Read the attached two drafts and provide an assessment and feedback for each. Feedback is to be provided by writing no more than 150 words for each aspect as below. Think about feedback in terms of Strengths and Improvements. For example, write one sentence of feedback on what you think has been done well, and then one sentence on where things might be improved. If there are all Strengths, then say so.
Your feedback should be critical, but always kind and constructive. If you are going to point out an area for Improvement, give a suggestion for how you think the area can be developed. It is inappropriate to simply assert that something needs Improvement.

Does the paper answer the set question?
Is there a clear story?
Can the argument be summarised into a single short sharp sentence (e.g. a Tweet)?
Does the narrative have a clear start, middle and end?
Is it a convincing story?
What needs to be done to make the story better?

Consider the following questions when writing your feedback on this marking criterion:
Are the correct headings used?
How is the grammar?
How is the spelling?
Does the paper use 12pt TNR with 1.5x spacing?
Is the use of jargon appropriate or more “buzzword”?
Can 50 big words be replaced with 10 small words?
Does expression interfere with meaning?
How readable is the paper?

Consider the following questions when writing your feedback on this marking criterion:
How reliant is the paper on the textbook for evidence?
Are references plonked in relevant looking places or do they serve to make a point supporting the argument (integration)?
Does the paper offer contrasting evidence?
Does the paper accept research as “true”?

Aspect 5 Theory (Strengths/Improvements)
Consider the following questions when writing your feedback on this marking criterion:
How reliant is the paper on the textbook for theory?
Is the application of theory a good explanation for observable behaviour?
Are ideas plonked in or do they serve to make a point supporting the argument (integration)?
Does the paper offer contrasting explanations of behaviour?
Does the paper accept theory as “truth”?
Does the paper use as many theories as possible badly or does it use on theory well?
Does the paper use the theory developed under one heading inform theory in a subsequent section?

Consider the following questions when writing your feedback on this marking criterion:
How does the paper “hang together”?
What was the key message you took away?
Has the paper answered the question? Does it:
– describe a measure so that you understand it?
– explain what behaviour it is intended to influence and how using OB theory and evidence?
– explain what unintended behaviours emerge from the measure using OB theory and evidence?
– give an indication of how the measure can be improved to influence the intended behaviour in the desired way, or argue why it should be left as it is?
