The purpose of this paper is to give students a cursorily knowledge on the concept of globalization in the 21st century, and the effect of this phenomenon on our cities. Globalization is a result of the establishment of progressively closer contacts among countries and cities because of advancements in air travel, technology, and the development of a world economy, among others. Cities experience physical, economic, and social changes as a result of globalization.
Read chapter 7 in your text before writing this paper(the link is http://www.learningace.com/doc/7738385/23f793b83813b68dfa87ca4cf8a280eb/chapter-7-critical-urban-sociology-the-city-and-capitalism). Then, write a one page paper on what you believe are the positive and negative impacts of globalization on American cities. Give specific examples of these changes when you can. Think about social, economic, and physical aspects of the city (see below) and how these aspects change as a result of globalization.
