Dear hani

It has been reported to me, as the Assessment Officer for your programme, that you are suspected of having breached the University’s Academic Integrity Policy in the preparation of assessment(s) for the above class. Specifically, for the class Intl Business Emerging Markets KMGT-620-201460-20 (UKL1.60509) there is suspected major plagiarism in Week 1 Hand-in-Assignment with 92% matching text. There is excessive similarity between this assignment (Week 1 Hand-in-Assignment) and the same assignment (Week 1 Hand-in-Assignment) submitted on 18-Jan-2014, in a previous Class KMGT-620,140116,10,Intl Business Emerging Markets.201440-10 by another student (Blessing Kormah). PLEASE NOTE THAT I HAVE DELEGATED THE RESPONSIBILITY OF CONDUCTING THE INVESTIGATION INTO THIS ALLEGED INCIDENT OF MAJOR PLAGIARISM TO THE PROGRAMME DIRECTOR. PLEASE REPLY DIRECTLY TO THE PROGRAMME DIRECTOR,

The University’s procedures require me to investigate this matter and to make a report and recommendaton to the Board of Examiners on any penalty to be imposed. The procedures also state that you should have an opportunity to provide an explanation for the alleged incident, and I am inviting you to do so now.

You must provide me with any written explanation of the circumstances which have given rise to this allegation by 27/Jun/2014 .

In writing your response, it would be helpful to bear in mind the following:
The Turnitin report is always analysed by at least one member of the academic staff before an investigation for academic misconduct begins.

The precise value of the Turnitin similarity index is of no particular importance. The nature of the alleged offence is as important as the extent of it.

The sources identified by Turnitin are not necessarily the sources you used simply because the same material may appear in many different sources. What is important is not whether you used those particular sources, but rather whether you have properly cited and referenced the sources you did use.
A very short explanation is just as likely to be effective as a very long explanation. There is no need to explain the matching text from each of the sources listed, whether Turnitin identifies only a few or an excessive long list of sources.

Yours sincerely

Assessment Officer

Yours sincerely

Hani

This is the new assignment that the new writer work in :

Shaker Zahra compiled a report on the theory of international new ventures, which is based on a number of researches carried out by the use of frameworks set by Oviatt and McDougall. Her study is referred to as “A theory of international new ventures: A decade of research.”These two authors had previously identified and described international new ventures. This evaluation focuses on the contribution of Zahra’s research to the seminal work of Oviatt and McDougall in their paper, Toward a Theory of International New Ventures. Moreover, the paper will look into the factors that Zahra considers giving an advantage to the new firms in the globalised economy, giving personal views on these factors.

To commence there are a number of elements in Zahra’s article that help in building the earlier findings from Oviatt and McDougall’s article. Some of these contributions include the following. Most importantly, is the utilization of the framework created by these two authors. Oviatt and McDougall made suggestions of the possible reasons for the success of the INVs in the global market (Oviatt & McDougall, 1994). Zahra utilizes these suggestions to conduct her research to come up with the factors that contribute to the success of these companies as elaborated below.

Zahra also makes use of the insight of INVs created by Oviatt and McDougall to research more on the INV phenomenon. The research carried out by Zahra on the INV phenomenon has led to the confirmation that the suggestions by the two authors about age influencing the development of the INVs being true (Oviatt & McDougall, 1994). The study by Zahra reveals that using age as a determining factor for the survival and achievements of the new ventures has some loopholes. Some of these include the fact that “some new ventures are spun off by existing companies, having benefited from the resources and deep pockets of their parent corporations, including their networks, established systems, and well-recognized names” (Zahra, 2005). Additionally, there are new ventures established by restructuring the existing companies. In zahra’s argument, “The evolution of the firm’s mission and resource base are intimately related to managerial capacity, which, to some extent, is defined by the pre-launch experience” (Zahra, 2005).

The factors that Zahra considers giving the new firms an advantage in the international market includes the following. First is that new ventures have the opportunity to learn from the already established international companies. These new firms gather much information, which enables them to, “enter foreign markets using higher modes of entry” (Zahra, 2005). The INVs have a great benefit of both exploitative and explorative learning. For exploratory learning, the INVs are able to obtain information that is beyond their repertoire; on the other hand, exploitative learning encompasses the INVs improving the data they obtain from the already existing businesses (Dimitratos & Plakoyiannaki, 2003).

Another advantage that the INVs have is the help these firms have “from different cultural variables in stimulating and exploiting entrepreneurial activities in international markets.” This benefit entails six dimensions of entrepreneurial culture. These include; market orientation, learning orientation, innovation propensity, risk attitudes, networking orientation and finally motivation orientation (Dimitratos & Plakoyiannaki, 2003).

In my opinion, these factors are capable of causing the success of the INVs in the globalized economy. These firms have a broad platform to learn from the already existing companies, finding out the weaknesses they have their strengths, as well as their achievements. With this information, the INVs have the chance to come up with strategies that ensure curb the challenges they anticipate, and to achieve higher strengths than those of the existing companies.
